The visit was the Honorable Song’s first time to USFK headquarters since taking over as the MINDEF July 14. The ceremony included an inspection of the troops, a 19-gun salute and a presentation of one of the shell casings to honor the MINDEF.

Ministry of National Defense and United Nations Command hosted a repatriation ceremony at U.S. Army Garrison Yongsan, Republic of Korea, June 22. Service members attended the ceremony to bid farewell to a fallen hero who fought during the Korean War.
One set of remains was repatriated today and will be transferred to Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency for further identification.
