A USFK civilian employee who works at Osan Air Base tested positive for COVID-19.
The U.S. civilian employee last visited Osan AB on April 2 and has been in quarantine at his off-installation residence since then as his leadership directed him to quarantine because he had been in direct contact to a person who tested positive for COVID-19.
USFK health professionals are currently conducting contact tracing and thoroughly cleaned known Osan AB facilities visited by the employee.
USFK is collaborating with local public health authorities and the KCDC to share information and discuss response measures.
As a precautionary measure to protect the force, Osan AB remains at HPCON C+ as it continues contact tracing of its other recent confirmed COVID-19 cases.
Additional information will be provided by USFK as it becomes available.
USFK continues to maintain a robust combined defense posture to protect the Republic of Korea against any threat or adversary while maintaining prudent preventative measures to protect the force.
