Welcome to the J1 page! We are a joint and combined team of military, civilian and contractor professionals supporting the readiness, fighting strength, and morale of United States Forces Korea (USFK). Through the formulation and interpretation of personnel management policies, we ensure adequate levels of personnel are provided to theater service components so they can “Fight Tonight." Our goal is to improve communication, understanding and cooperation between our staff and our customers. This webpage is one mechanism to achieve that goal. Our page contains contact information to each of our divisions and the USFK Air Force element.

Mission and Vision Statement

The J1 enables and enhances “Fight Tonight” readiness by providing dynamic strength management and professional personnel services that directly supports the Commander, United Nations Command (UNC), Combined Forces Command (CFC) and United States Forces Korea (USFK) and subordinate component commanders while making Korea the Assignment of Choice.

Our vision is to be the premier Joint Force personnel directorate by providing a model of full-spectrum talent management and a preferred quality of life.
