USFK Adjusts to HPCON B in Areas I and III - including Osan Air Base - and Seongnam
February 14, 2021 — USFK has adjusted its current health protection condition to “Bravo” for USFK Areas I and III - including Osan Air Base - and Seongnam, effective Monday, Feb. 15 at 7 a.m. Area II + remains in HPCON Charlie. DOD recently mandated mask wear on all military installations. For those in HPCON Bravo areas, travel to Area II+ remains off limits except for OFFICIAL DUTY ONLY. ALL USFK-affiliated individuals, regardless of assigned area, are authorized bubble-to-bubble travel to include USAG-Yongsan and the Dragon Hill Lodge. Area IV adjusts to HPCON Bravo Feb. 8 at 6 a.m.
February 7, 2021 — As Area IV adjusts to HPCON Bravo on Monday, Feb. 8 at 6 am, USFK wants to remind its affiliated community that the risk still exists. USFK Raises Health Protection Condition to Charlie
December 17, 2020 — Due to the continued increase of confirmed COVID-19 cases across South Korea, United States Forces Korea has raised its current health protection condition to “Charlie” peninsula-wide effective Saturday, Dec. 19 at 00:01 a.m. To minimize the potential exposure to others, only mission essential individuals will report for duty with all others conducting telework. Portions of Area I, Area II - including the greater Seoul metropolitan area - and Busan remain off-limits except for official and necessary duties. While bubble-to-bubble travel remains authorized, USFK highly encourages all individuals to avoid travel as much as possible within South Korea. All USFK-affiliated individuals are reminded to adhere to all USFK core tenets, HPCON measures and ROK government and local directives to protect yourself, your bubble and others from COVID-19. Korean War vet from U.K. is interred in South Korea
February 21, 2019 — On February 19, 2019, at the United Nations Memorial Cemetery in Busan, retired U.K. Sergeant Speakman was interred surrounded by family, U.K. delegates, and members of the United Nations Command (UNC). Deputy Commander, UNC, Lieutenant-General Wayne Eyre attended the service to pay his respects and laid a wreath for Sgt Speakman representing the UNC and the other Sending States also in attendance... On February, 19, 2019, at the United Nations Memorial Cemetery in Busan, retired U.K. Army Sgt. Speakman were interred surrounded by family, U.K. delegates, Korean War Veterans, local school children, and members of the United Nations Command.
