USAG Humphreys, Republic of Korea —
United States Forces Korea and United Nations Command hosted several members of South Korea’s National Assembly Defense Committee with roundtable discussions, a base tour and a luncheon with service members from each command at USAG Humphreys today.
Gen. Robert B. “Abe” Abrams, United Nations Command, Combined Forces Command, and United States Forces Korea Commander, emphasized the importance of the ROK-U.S. alliance and maintaining a strong combined defense posture to ensure peace, security and stability remains on the Korean Peninsula.
“Today was a great opportunity to introduce members of the National Assembly Defense Committee to our headquarters and familiarize them to our organizations, structures and missions,” said Abrams. "Our commitment to the ROK-US alliance remains ironclad, unbreakable and COVID-proof. Today’s engagements confirmed to the National Assembly that we stand postured and ready to deter aggression, defend the Republic of Korea, and if necessary, defeat any adversary who would oppose us."

주한미군 및 유엔군 사령부, 한미동맹에 대한 약속 강조
오늘, 주한미군 및 유엔군사령부는 대한민국 국회 국방위원회 의원 몇 분을 험프리스로 초청하여 간담회를 가졌으며 또한 의원들은 기지를 둘러보고 각 사령부 소속 장병들과 오찬을 함께 했다.
유엔군사령관/한미연합군사령관/ 주한미군 사령관인 로버트 "에이브" 에이브람스 대장은 한미동맹 및 한반도에서 평화, 안보 및 안정을 지속할 수 있게 하는 강력한 연합방위태세 유지의 중요성을 강조하였다.
에이브람스 대장은 “오늘, 우리는 대한민국 국회 국방위원회 소속 의원들에게 우리 사령부를 소개하고, 그들이 우리 조직과 구조 및 임무에 대해 잘 알 수 있도록 하는 좋은 기회를 가졌다,” 면서 “한미동맹에 대한 우리의 약속은 철통같고, 깨지지 않으며, 코로나 바이러스를 이겨낼 만큼 강력하다. 오늘의 만남으로 우리는 준비 태세를 갖추고, 침략 억제 및 대한민국을 방어 할 준비가 되었으며, 필요하다면 우리에게 대항할 적을 물리칠 것임을 국회와 확인하였다,” 고 밝혔다.
