U.S. Forces Korea Memorial Day Observance

WHAT: U.S. Forces Korea Recognition and Commemoration of the Fallen Men and Women of the U.S. Armed Forces (151st U.S. Memorial Day Observance)

WHEN: Thursday, May 25 at 9 a.m.

WHERE: U.S. Army Garrison Yongsan (Knight Field)
EVENT DETAILS:
8 a.m. -- Media credentialing at Yongsan Gate #1.
8:30 a.m. – Media desk closes; credentialed media escorted to Knight Field (short walk).

8:45 a.m. – Media in position on Knight Field.

9 a.m. – U.S. Forces Korea Memorial Day Observance begins.

10 a.m. -- U.S. Forces Korea Memorial Day Observance ends; media escorted back to Gate #1 and released.

REGISTRATION: Media interested in covering the observance must register by noon, Tuesday, May 23. To be placed on the credentialed list, send an email to Ms. Song, Ho Chong at paousfk@gmail.com or call 0503.323.6029 with the following information: your name, Korea Identification Number (KID), email address, media organization and contact phone number. Indicate you would like to cover the U.S. Forces Korea Memorial Day Observance. The U.S. Forces Korea Public Affairs Office will contact media outlets with their credential status no later than 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 24.

EDITOR’S NOTE: Media will be escorted at all times while on the installation. Please be aware this is a solemn ceremony. We request media respect its purpose to recognize and commemorate the fallen men and women of the U.S. Armed Forces. No interviews with leaders or participants will be granted. All public remarks may be recorded and speakers quoted.
