USAG HUMPHREYS, Republic of Korea —
Two USFK service members tested positive for COVID-19 on March 12.
Both Soldiers are stationed at United States Army Garrison – Humphreys, and tested positive after providing a screening sample as part of USFK's enhanced surveillance testing program.
The first Soldier last visited USAG-Humphreys on March 12. The second Soldier has been on a shelter in place status since March 10.
Both Soldiers are currently in isolation at a USAG - Humphreys facility designated for confirmed COVID-19 cases.
KDCA and USFK health professionals are actively conducting contact tracing to determine whether anyone else may have been exposed to these individuals, and to identify and ensure all known on-post and off-post facilities visited by the individuals are thoroughly cleaned.
Despite the recent confirmed cases, USFK remains at a high level of readiness with less than 1% of its active duty service members currently confirmed positive with COVID-19.
USFK continues to maintain a robust combined defense posture to protect the Republic of Korea against any threat or adversary, while maintaining prudent preventive measures to protect the force and the mission.
