USFK, 8th Army Korea Conduct Combined Forces OPSEC Level II Training

Col. James D. Beall, director, USFK UCJ39 Information Operations, explained at the start of the class, during the three days, you’ll begin to learn about operations security, why it matters and how to manage a program and further explained that an effective OPSEC program improves force protection and your unit survivability. The training is aimed to equip service members with the essential skills and knowledge needed to protect sensitive information and mitigate risks in an increasingly complex and interconnected global landscape. The U.S. Forces Korea and 8th Army-Korea recently held a significant training session at Camp Humphreys, South Korea including U.S., ROK, and United Nations Command forces, Sep. 24-27. The training focused on operations security at an advanced level, known as OPSEC Level II. The training is aimed to equip service members with the essential skills and knowledge needed to protect sensitive information and mitigate risks in an increasingly complex and interconnected global landscape. It is an important aspect of daily lives and missions for personnel currently serving in the Korea Theater of Operation.

Defense Operations Security Planners Course (DOPC) exercise training event, for members of ROK Joint Chiefs of Staff Office and other elements of ROK unit military personnel the week of Jan. 22-26.  This course was presented in Hangul and English. With the purpose to train units and organizations to better protect operations, activities, and investments during the OPSEC Military Decision-Making Process planning.
