Three USFK-affiliated individuals have tested positive for COVID-19.
Two Department of Defense civilians, who work on United States Army Garrison - Yongsan, tested positive on Jan. 16 and 17, following their direct contact with someone who recently tested positive for the virus.
One dependent, who is the spouse of a DoD employee who tested positive on Jan. 13 and has access to USAG - Yongsan, tested positive on Jan. 17.
All three individuals, who reside in Seoul, are either currently in isolation at a USAG-Humphreys facility designated for confirmed COVID-19 cases, or at their off-installation residences while awaiting transportation to the isolation facility.
KDCA and USFK health professionals are actively conducting contact tracing to determine whether anyone else may have been exposed to this individual, and to identify and ensure all known on-post and off-post facilities visited are thoroughly cleaned.
Despite the confirmed cases, USFK remains at a high level of readiness with less than 1% of its active duty service members currently confirmed positive with COVID-19.
USFK continues to maintain a robust combined defense posture to protect the Republic of Korea against any threat or adversary while maintaining prudent preventive measures to protect the force and the mission.
