USAG HUMPHREYS, Republic of Korea —
A Korean National contractor who works on United States Army Garrison - Humphreys tested positive for COVID-19 on December 18.
The contractor last visited USAG-Humphreys on December 16.
After developing symptoms consistent with COVID-19, the contractor was tested at the Pyeongtaek Public Health Center, and USFK was informed Dec. 19 of the confirmed case.
The contractor is currently in isolation at his off-installation home and is awaiting transport to a Korean medical facility designated for confirmed COVID-19 cases.
KDCA and USFK health professionals are actively conducting contact tracing to determine whether anyone else may have been exposed, and to identify and ensure all known on-post and off-post facilities visited by the contractor are thoroughly cleaned.
Despite the confirmed cases, USFK remains at a high level of readiness with less than 1% of its active duty service members currently confirmed positive with COVID-19.
USFK continues to maintain a robust combined defense posture to protect the Republic of Korea against any threat or adversary while maintaining prudent preventive measures to protect the force.
