Sixteen USFK-affiliated individuals tested positive for COVID-19 between July 15 and 19.
Six service members, three stationed at Camp Casey, one stationed at K-16, one stationed at Osan Air Base, and one stationed at Kunsan Air Base, tested positive between July 15 and 18 after developing symptoms consistent with COVID-19.
Ten individuals, one DoD civilian and a family member of the civilian stationed at Camp Henry, three service members stationed at Camp Casey, and five service members stationed at Osan Air Base, tested positive between July 15 and 19 after providing a screening sample during USFK’s contact tracing following their direct contact with individuals who recently tested positive for the virus.
All individuals are currently in isolation at a facility designated for confirmed COVID-19 cases at United States Army Garrison – Humphreys or Osan Air Base.
KDCA and USFK health professionals are actively conducting contact tracing to determine whether anyone else may have been exposed to these individuals and to identify and ensure all known on-post and off-post facilities visited by the individuals are thoroughly cleaned.
Despite the recent confirmed cases, USFK remains at a high level of readiness with more than 80% of its affiliated community vaccinated, and less than 1% of its active duty service members currently confirmed positive with COVID-19.
USFK continues to maintain a robust combined defense posture to protect the Republic of Korea against any threat or adversary, while maintaining prudent preventive measures to protect the force.
