Ten USFK-affiliated individuals tested positive for COVID-19 on July 10 and 11.
Four service members, three stationed at Camp Casey and one stationed at K-16, tested positive on July 10 and 11 after developing symptoms consistent with COVID-19.
Five service members, four stationed at Camp Casey and one stationed at Camp Hovey, and a service member’s family member stationed at United States Army Garrison – Humphreys, tested positive on July 11 after providing a screening sample during USFK’s contact tracing following their direct contact with individuals who recently tested positive for the virus.
All individuals are currently in isolation at a facility designated for confirmed COVID-19 cases at USAG – Humphreys.
KDCA and USFK health professionals are actively conducting contact tracing to determine whether anyone else may have been exposed to these individuals and to identify and ensure all known on-post and off-post facilities visited by the individuals are thoroughly cleaned.
Despite the recent confirmed cases, USFK remains at a high level of readiness with more than 80% of its affiliated community vaccinated, and less than 1% of its active duty service members currently confirmed positive with COVID-19.
USFK continues to maintain a robust combined defense posture to protect the Republic of Korea against any threat or adversary, while maintaining prudent preventive measures to protect the force.
