PA-001-21 | July 12, 2021

USAG Humphreys, Republic of Korea —

Eleven USFK-affiliated individuals tested positive for COVID-19 between July 7 and 9.

Four service members, one stationed at Camp Carroll, two stationed at Camp Casey and one stationed at Kunsan Air Base, and one DoD civilian working at United States Army Garrison - Humphreys tested positive on July 8 and 9 after developing symptoms consistent with COVID-19.

Two service members, one stationed at Camp Casey and one on temporary duty to Osan Air Base, one USFK contractor working at USAG - Humphreys, and one Korean Augmentation to the U.S. Army stationed at K-16 tested positive between July 7 and 9 after providing a screening sample during USFK’s contact tracing following their direct contact with individuals who recently tested positive for the virus.

Two Korean National contractors working at USAG – Humphreys tested positive on July 8 after providing a screening sample during KDCA’s contact tracing following their direct contact with someone who recently tested positive for the virus.

All individuals are currently in isolation at a facility designated for confirmed COVID-19 cases at USAG – Humphreys, Osan Air Base or Republic of Korea isolation facility.

KDCA and USFK health professionals are actively conducting contact tracing to determine whether anyone else may have been exposed to these individuals and to identify and ensure all known on-post and off-post facilities visited by the individuals are thoroughly cleaned.

Despite the recent confirmed cases, USFK remains at a high level of readiness with more than 80% of its affiliated community vaccinated, and less than 1% of its active duty service members currently confirmed positive with COVID-19.

USFK continues to maintain a robust combined defense posture to protect the Republic of Korea against any threat or adversary, while maintaining prudent preventive measures to protect the force.
