The spouse of a USFK service member, stationed at Daegu, tested positive for COVID-19 today.

The dependent returned from the United States on April 4 and was in mandatory quarantine at her off-base residence in Waegwan since her arrival.

She is currently being transported to Camp Humphreys barracks designated for isolation.

USFK health professionals determined detailed contact tracing and thorough disinfection cleaning of facilities were not necessary due to her quarantine status.

Any USFK-affiliated individual arriving to the Republic of Korea from overseas must conduct a minimum 14-day quarantine, will be monitored for symptoms and must complete two COVID-19 tests with confirmed negative results to exit quarantine.

This policy stands as a testament to USFK’s preventive measures to minimize exposure with others and contain the virus' spread.

Despite the confirmed cases, USFK remains at a high level of readiness with only two active duty service members who’ve tested positive for COVID-19, and continues to maintain a robust combined defense posture to protect the Republic of Korea against any threat or adversary while maintaining prudent preventive measures to protect the force.
