Two USFK Contractors Confirmed with COVID-19

PA-001-20 | April 3, 2020

Two USFK contractors have tested positive for COVID-19 today.

The first contractor, a U.S. citizen who works at Osan Air Base, is currently in isolation at his off-base residence as directed by KCDC and USFK medical personnel. He last visited Osan AB on April 1. As a precautionary measure to protect the force while USFK conducts contact tracing and begins thorough cleaning of known locations visited on Osan AB, HPCON C+ protective measures have been implemented on Osan AB.

The second contractor, a U.S. citizen who works at Camp Humphreys, is currently in isolation at his off-base residence as directed by KCDC and USFK medical personnel. He last visited Camp Humphreys on March 27 and has not been in contact with any other USFK or USFK affiliated person since going into self-quarantine earlier this week.

As a precautionary measure to protect the force as Camp Humphreys continues contact tracing of its recent confirmed COVID cases, HPCON C+ will remain in effect on Camp Humphreys.

USFK remains at risk level “high” peninsula-wide and is implementing all appropriate control measures, including a declared Public Health Emergency on March 25, as prudent decisions to protect the force and stop the spread of COVID-19.

Additional information will be provided by USFK as it becomes available.
