Exercise Key Resolve came to an end March 6 following two weeks of training.

Exercise Key Resolve is an annual combined and joint command post exercise that is executed under various scenarios with the purpose of honing the skills necessary to defend the Republic of Korea. The exercise is designed to increase Alliance readiness, protect the region, and maintain stability on the Korean Peninsula.

Approximately 5,200 U.S. forces participated in KR14, about 1,100 of which came from off peninsula. Forces from major ROK units representing all services participated in the exercise. Four United Nations Command Sending States also participated in the exercise: Australia, Canada, Denmark, and the United Kingdom.

Training exercises like Key Resolve are carried out in the spirit of the 1953 ROK-U.S. Mutual Defense Treaty.  These exercises highlight the longstanding partnership

and enduring friendship between United Nations Command sending state nations, help ensure peace and security on the Peninsula, and reaffirm the U.S. commitment to the region.

대한민국 서울 용산기지 – 지난 2주 동안 실시되었던 키리졸브 연습이 3월 6일로 종료되었다.

키리졸브 연습은 한반도 방어에 필요한 기술 연마를 목적으로 다양한 시나리오로 실시하는 연례적 연합/합동 지휘소 연습이다.  본 연습은 한미동맹군 전투준비태세 강화 및, 지역 안보 도모, 나아가 한반도 안정 유지를 목적으로 실시된다.

키리졸브 연습에는 1,100 명의 해외 증원 병력 포함, 5,200명의 미군과, 한국군 다수의 부대가 참가하였다. 또한 호주, 캐나다, 덴마크, 그리고 영국 등 4개의 유엔 파병국가들도 참가하였다.

키리졸브와 같은 연습은 1953년 한미상호방위조약의 정신에 입각하여 실시되며, 이를 통해, 유엔 파병국가간의 지속적인 동반자 관계와 우의를 강조하며, 한반도의 평화와 안보를 보증하고, 또한 미국의 이 지역에 대한 공약을 재확인한다.
