The Republic of Korea-United States Combined Forces Command announced the annual Key Resolve exercise will take place March 2 to 13, 2015.

Key Resolve is an annual command post exercise that ensures the ROK-U.S. Alliance is prepared to defend the ROK, while training Alliance forces to respond to any potential event on the peninsula. 

"This is a critical exercise to train alongside our ROK and United Nations Sending State partners. It is important to maintain our high level of proficiency on key tasks while exercising different scenarios," said Gen. Curtis M. Scaparrotti, UNC/CFC/USFK commander. "Exercising our multi-national force is an important component of readiness and is fundamental to sustaining and strengthening the Alliance."

Five United Nations Sending States are scheduled to participate in KR15. They include Australia, Canada, Denmark, France, and Great Britain. Additionally, the Neutral Nations Supervisory Commission will observe and monitor the exercise, fulfilling duties prescribed by the Armistice Agreement. 

The United Nations Command has informed the Korean People's Army in North Korea through their Panmunjom mission about Key Resolve dates and the non-provocative nature of this training.

한미연합군사령부, 2015년 키 리졸브 연습 시작

대한민국, 서울 용산기지 -  한미연합군사령부는 “’15년 3월 2일부터 13일까지 연례적인 키 리졸브 연습을 실시할 것”이라고 발표했다.

키 리졸브 연습은 연례적인 지휘소 연습으로, 한미동맹이 대한민국을 방어할  준비가 되어 있는지 확인하며, 동맹군이 한반도에서 발생할 수 있는 각종 잠재적   우발상황에 대응할 수 있도록 하는 훈련이다.

커티스 M. 스카파로티 유엔사/연합사/주한미군사 사령관은 “키 리졸브 연습은  대한민국 및 유엔파견국 참가자들과 함께 훈련할 수 있는 매우 중요한 연습이다.

다양한 시나리오에 대한 연습을 진행하면서 핵심과업 수행을 위한 높은 수준의  숙달 능력을 유지하는 것이 중요하다. ” 라며 “우리 다국적군의 연습은 준비태세에 중요한 요소이며, 한미동맹 유지 및 강화에 중요하다”고 강조했다.

이번 키 리졸브 연습에는 유엔파견국 5개국이 참가한다. 참가국들은 호주, 캐나다, 덴마크, 프랑스 및 영국이다. 또한 중립국감독위원회는 정전협정에 따라 본 연습을 참관할 예정이다.

유엔군사령부는 판문점을 통해 북한군에게 키 리졸브 연습의 일정과, 본 연습이  비도발적 성격의 연례적인 연습임을 공식 통보했다.
