Combined Forces Command celebrated its 43rd Foundation Anniversary with a ceremony held at the United States Army Garrison - Yongsan’s Knight Field today.

오늘, 한미연합군사령부는 주한미군 용산기지 나이트 필드에서 창설 43주년 기념식을 가졌습니다.

Gen. Paul J. LaCamera, United Nations Command/Combined Forces Command/United States Forces Korea Commander, presided over the ceremony and said “as we celebrate our 43rd anniversary, everyone can see that we remain the most lethal, ready and combined force in the world. We remain ready to deter, defend, and – if necessary – defeat any adversaries who seek to harm this great country.”

유엔사/연합사/주한미군 사령관 폴.J.라카메라 대장 주관으로 진행된 행사에서 사령관은 “창설 43주년을 기념하면서, 우리가 전 세계에서 가장 강력하고, 준비되어 있는 연합전력이라는 것을 모두가 알 수 있다고 생각합니다. 우리는 이 위대한 나라를 위협하는 그 어떤 적도 억제, 방어하고 필요시에는 격멸하기 위한 대비태세를 유지하고 있습니다.”라고 말했습니다.

Founded on Nov. 7, 1978, CFC serves as the wartime command and control headquarters for the Republic of Korea, U.S. and international military forces with a mission of deterring external aggression against South Korea.

1978년 11월 7일에 창설된 한미연합군사령부는 대한민국에 대한 외부 공격을 억제하는 임무를 띠고 있으며, 대한민국 국군, 미군 및 국제군을 위한 지휘 통제 본부로써 역할을 가집니다.

Gen. Kim Seung Kyum, Deputy Commander of Combined Forces Command, stressed that “we will keep on marching forward together to advance the ROK-U.S. Alliance and Combined Forces Command based on common value and trust” in his remarks.

 연합사 부사령관 김승겸 대장은 “앞으로도 공동의 가치와 신뢰를 바탕으로 한미동맹과 한미연합군사령부의 발전을 위해 함께 전진해 나갈 것” 이라고 강조했습니다.

Due to COVID-19 considerations, only U.S. and ROK military members assigned to CFC were invited to attend the ceremony. Both President Moon Jae-in and Minister Suh Wook provided congratulatory remarks that celebrated CFC’s role in maintaining peace and security on the Korean peninsula.

코로나-19 상황으로 인하여 한미연합군사령부 소속 한미 장병만이 기념식에 참석했습니다. 문재인 대통령 및 서욱 국방부 장관은 한반도의 평화 및 안보를 유지하는 연합사의 노고를 치하하는 경축사를 보냈습니다.

Combined Forces Command remains committed to defending the ROK against any adversary or threat, a responsibility it’s been upholding for the last 43 years in support of the ironclad ROK-U.S. Alliance.

한미연합군사령부는 철통 같은 한미동맹의 일환으로 지난 43년간 어떠한 적 혹은 위협으로부터 대한민국을 수호하기 위해 헌신해오고 있습니다.
