USAG Humphreys, Republic of Korea —
Thirty-one USFK-affiliated individuals tested positive for COVID-19 between Sept. 30 and Oct. 7.
Three service members and two DoD civilians stationed at United States Army Garrison–Humphreys, three service members and one family member stationed at Osan Air Base, and three service members and one Korean National employee at Camp Casey tested positive between Sept. 30 and Oct. 7 after developing symptoms consistent with COVID-19.
One service member, one family member, two contractors and one Korean National employee stationed at USAG–Humphreys, one service member stationed at Osan Air Base, one DoD civilian stationed at USAG-Daegu, and one service member and one Korean National employee at Camp Casey tested positive between Oct. 1 and Oct. 7 after providing a screening sample as part of USFK’s contact tracing for their direct contact with individuals who recently tested positive for the virus.
Three service members stationed at USAG–Humphreys, and one service member stationed at Camp Casey and one service member stationed at Camp Hovey tested positive between Oct. 3 and Oct. 7 after providing a screening sample as part of USFK’s enhanced surveillance testing.
One family member at USAG–Humphreys, one service member and one Korean National employee at Camp Casey tested positive between Sept. 30 and Oct. 4 after providing a testing sample prior to medical evaluation.
One service member stationed at Kunsan Air Base tested positive on Oct. 5 after providing a testing sample required to depart the peninsula for international travel.
All individuals are currently in isolation at a facility designated for confirmed COVID-19 cases at USAG–Humphreys, Osan Air Base or a Korean medical facility.
KDCA, local government public health and USFK health professionals are actively conducting contact tracing to determine whether anyone else may have been exposed to these individuals and to identify and ensure all known on-post and off-post facilities visited by the individuals are thoroughly cleaned.
USFK remains at a high level of readiness with more than 85% of its affiliated community vaccinated, and less than 1% of its active duty service members currently confirmed positive with COVID-19.
USFK continues to maintain a robust combined defense posture to protect the Republic of Korea against any threat or adversary, while maintaining prudent preventive measures to protect the force.
