Eleven USFK-affiliated individuals tested positive for COVID-19 between Aug. 23 and 26.
Four service members stationed at Osan Air Base and one civilian stationed at United States Army Garrison – Humphreys tested positive on Aug. 25 and 26 after developing symptoms consistent with COVID-19.
One service member stationed at Osan Air Base, one civilian stationed at USAG – Humphreys, three family members stationed in Daegu tested positive between Aug. 23 and 26 after providing a screening sample as part of USFK’s contact tracing for their direct contact with individuals who recently tested positive for the virus.
One service member stationed at USAG – Humphreys tested positive on Aug. 24 after providing a testing sample prior to medical treatment.
All individuals are currently in isolation at a facility designated for confirmed COVID-19 cases at USAG – Humphreys or Osan Air Base.
KDCA, local government public health and USFK health professionals are actively conducting contact tracing to determine whether anyone else may have been exposed to these individuals and to identify and ensure all known on-post and off-post facilities visited by the individuals are thoroughly cleaned.
USFK remains at a high level of readiness with more than 80% of its affiliated community vaccinated, and less than 1% of its active duty service members currently confirmed positive with COVID-19.
USFK continues to maintain a robust combined defense posture to protect the Republic of Korea against any threat or adversary, while maintaining prudent preventive measures to protect the force.
