Three USFK-affiliated individuals tested positive for COVID-19 on July 27 and Aug. 2.
One service member stationed at Osan Air Base tested positive on Aug. 2 after developing symptoms consistent with COVID-19.
One DoD civilian and one of their family members working at Camp Walker tested positive on July 27 after receiving notification from a local Korean public health department as part of contact tracing for exposure at an off-installation location.
All three individuals are currently in isolation at a facility designated for confirmed COVID-19 cases at United States Army Garrison – Humphreys or Osan Air Base.
KDCA, local government public health and USFK health professionals are actively conducting contact tracing to determine whether anyone else may have been exposed to these individuals and to identify and ensure all known on-post and off-post facilities visited by the individuals are thoroughly cleaned.
Despite the recent confirmed cases, USFK remains at a high level of readiness with more than 80% of its affiliated community vaccinated, and less than 1% of its active duty service members currently confirmed positive with COVID-19.
USFK continues to maintain a robust combined defense posture to protect the Republic of Korea against any threat or adversary, while maintaining prudent preventive measures to protect the force.
