USAG Humphreys, Republic of Korea —
Nineteen USFK-affiliated individuals tested positive for COVID-19 between June 29 and July 2.
Nine service members and a service member’s family member stationed at Camp Casey, five service members and a service member’s family member stationed at K-16, and two service members stationed at Osan Air Base tested positive between June 29 and July 2 after providing a screening sample during USFK’s contact tracing following their direct contact with individuals who recently tested positive for the virus.
One service member stationed at Camp Casey tested positive on July 1 after providing a screening sample required to return to the United States.
All nineteen individuals are currently in isolation at a facility designated for confirmed COVID-19 cases at United States Army Garrison – Humphreys or Osan Air Base.
KDCA and USFK health professionals are actively conducting contact tracing to determine whether anyone else may have been exposed to these individuals and to identify and ensure all known on-post and off-post facilities visited by the individuals are thoroughly cleaned.
Despite the recent confirmed cases, USFK remains at a high level of readiness with more than 80% of its affiliated community vaccinated, and less than 1% of its active duty service members currently confirmed positive with COVID-19.
USFK continues to maintain a robust combined defense posture to protect the Republic of Korea against any threat or adversary, while maintaining prudent preventive measures to protect the force.
