Ten USFK-affiliated individuals tested positive for COVID-19 between June 26 and 29.
Four service members stationed at Camp Casey, one service member stationed at Camp Carroll, and a family member of a service member stationed at K-16 tested positive between June 26 and 28 after providing a screening sample during USFK’s contact tracing following their direct contact with individuals who recently tested positive for the virus.
One service member stationed at United States Army Garrison – Humphreys, one service member stationed at Camp Casey, and one service member stationed at K-16 tested positive on June 28 and 29 after developing symptoms consistent with COVID-19.
One service member stationed at Camp Casey tested positive on June 29 after providing a screening sample required to return to the United States.
All ten individuals are currently in isolation at a facility designated for confirmed COVID-19 cases at United States Army Garrison - Humphreys.
KDCA and USFK health professionals are actively conducting contact tracing to determine whether anyone else may have been exposed to these individuals and to identify and ensure all known on-post and off-post facilities visited by the individuals are thoroughly cleaned.
Despite the recent confirmed cases, USFK remains at a high level of readiness with approximately 80% of its affiliated community vaccinated, and less than 1% of its active duty service members currently confirmed positive with COVID-19
USFK continues to maintain a robust combined defense posture to protect the Republic of Korea against any threat or adversary, while maintaining prudent preventive measures to protect the force.
