Eight USFK-affiliated individuals tested positive for COVID-19 on June 17, 18 and 20.
One service member stationed at United States Army Garrison – Humphreys tested positive on June 17 after developing symptoms consistent with COVID-19.
Four service members stationed at USAG – Humphreys and two service members stationed at Camp Casey in Dongducheon tested positive on June 17 and 18 after providing a screening sample during USFK’s contact tracing following their direct contact with individuals who recently tested positive for the virus.
A family member of a USFK service member tested positive on June 20 after providing a screening sample required to return to the United States.
All eight individuals are currently in isolation at a USAG – Humphreys facility designated for confirmed COVID-19 cases.
KDCA and USFK health professionals are actively conducting contact tracing to determine whether anyone else may have been exposed to these individuals and to identify and ensure all known on-post and off-post facilities visited by the individuals are thoroughly cleaned.
Despite the recent confirmed cases, USFK remains at a high level of readiness with more than 75% of its affiliated community vaccinated and less than 1% of its active duty service members currently confirmed positive with COVID-19
USFK continues to maintain a robust combined defense posture to protect the Republic of Korea against any threat or adversary, while maintaining prudent preventive measures to protect the force.
