Two USFK Service Members Confirmed with COVID-19

PA-001-21 | June 17, 2021

Two USFK service members tested positive for COVID-19 on June 15 and 16.

One service member stationed at United States Army Garrison – Humphreys tested positive on June 15 after developing symptoms consistent with COVID-19.

Another service member stationed at Camp Casey in Dongducheon tested positive on June 16 after providing a sample required to return to the United States.

Both individuals are currently in isolation at a USAG – Humphreys facility designated for confirmed COVID-19 cases.

KDCA and USFK health professionals are actively conducting contact tracing to determine whether anyone else may have been exposed to these individuals and to identify and ensure all known on-post and off-post facilities visited by the individuals are thoroughly cleaned.

Despite the recent confirmed cases, USFK remains at a high level of readiness with more than 75% of its affiliated community vaccinated and less than 1% of its active duty service members currently confirmed positive with COVID-19

USFK continues to maintain a robust combined defense posture to protect the Republic of Korea against any threat or adversary, while maintaining prudent preventive measures to protect the force.
