A Korean Augmentation to the U.S. Army (KATUSA) stationed at Camp Casey in Dongducheon tested positive for COVID-19 on April 29.
The ROK Soldier tested positive after providing a screening sample required to return to duty from leave.
The individual last visited Camp Casey on April 28, and is currently in isolation at a United States Army Garrison - Humphreys facility designated for confirmed COVID-19 cases.
KDCA and USFK health professionals are actively conducting contact tracing to determine whether anyone else may have been exposed to this individual, and to identify and ensure all known on-post and off-post facilities visited by the individual are thoroughly cleaned.
Despite the recent confirmed cases, USFK remains at a high level of readiness with less than 1% of its active duty service members currently confirmed positive with COVID-19.
USFK continues to maintain a robust combined defense posture to protect the Republic of Korea against any threat or adversary, while maintaining prudent preventive measures to protect the force and the mission.
