One USFK Service Member Confirmed with COVID-19
PA-001-21 | Feb. 20, 2021
A USFK service member stationed at K-16 Air Base in Seongnam tested positive for COVID-19 on Feb. 20.
The Soldier tested positive following her direct contact with a non-USFK affiliated individual who previously tested positive for the virus. The Soldier is currently in isolation at a United States Army Garrison - Humphreys facility designated for confirmed COVID-19 cases.
KDCA and USFK health professionals are actively conducting contact tracing to determine whether anyone else may have been exposed to these individuals, and to identify and ensure all known on-post and off-post facilities visited by the individuals are thoroughly cleaned.
Despite the recent confirmed cases, USFK remains at a high level of readiness with less than 1% of its active duty service members currently confirmed positive with COVID-19.
USFK continues to maintain a robust combined defense posture to protect the Republic of Korea against any threat or adversary, while maintaining prudent preventive measures to protect the force and the mission.
