A USFK service member stationed at Osan Air Base tested positive for COVID-19 on Feb. 19.

The airman tested positive following his direct contact with a Korean national who previously tested positive for the virus. The airman is currently in isolation at an Osan Air Base facility designated for confirmed COVID-19 cases.

KDCA and USFK health professionals are actively conducting contact tracing to determine whether anyone else may have been exposed to these individuals, and to identify and ensure all known on-post and off-post facilities visited by the individuals are thoroughly cleaned.

Despite the recent confirmed cases, USFK remains at a high level of readiness with less than 1% of its active duty service members currently confirmed positive with COVID-19.

USFK continues to maintain a robust combined defense posture to protect the Republic of Korea against any threat or adversary, while maintaining prudent preventive measures to protect the force and the mission.
