USAG-Humphreys —
Five USFK-affiliated individuals have tested positive for COVID-19 on Jan. 22 and 23.
Three service members, who are stationed at Kunsan Air Base and have been in quarantine since Jan. 20 following their direct contact with a service member who tested positive on the same date, tested positive on Jan. 22 after developing symptoms consistent with COVID-19.
One Department of Defense civilian, who works at United States Army Garrison - Humphreys, tested positive on Jan. 22 after developing symptoms consistent with COVID-19.
A second DoD civilian, who also works at USAG-Humphreys, tested positive on Jan. 23 after providing a screening sample as part of USFK’s enhanced surveillance testing.
All five of the individuals are currently in isolation at a USAG-Humphreys or Osan Air Base facility designated for confirmed COVID-19 cases.
KDCA and USFK health professionals are actively conducting contact tracing to determine whether anyone else may have been exposed to these individuals, and to identify and ensure all known on-post and off-post facilities visited are thoroughly cleaned.
Despite the confirmed cases, USFK remains at a high level of readiness with less than 1% of its active duty service members currently confirmed positive with COVID-19.
USFK continues to maintain a robust combined defense posture to protect the Republic of Korea against any threat or adversary while maintaining prudent preventive measures to protect the force and the mission.
