Two USFK service members, two U.S. Department of Defense employees and one Korean National civilian employee tested positive for COVID-19 following their direct contact with individuals who previously tested positive for the virus.

All five individuals work on United States Army Garrison -Yongsan.

Four of the individuals are either currently in isolation at a USAG-Humphreys facility designated for confirmed COVID-19 cases, or at their off-installation residences while awaiting transportation to the isolation facility; KDCA will determine if the KN civilian employee will isolate at his residence or in a Korean medical facility.

KDCA and USFK health professionals are actively conducting contact tracing to determine whether anyone else may have been exposed, and to identify and ensure all known on-post and off-post facilities visited by the individuals are thoroughly cleaned.

Despite the confirmed cases, USFK remains at a high level of readiness with less than 1% of its active duty service members currently confirmed positive with COVID-19.

USFK continues to maintain a robust combined defense posture to protect the Republic of Korea against any threat or adversary while maintaining prudent preventive measures to protect the force.
