Three USFK-affiliated individuals have tested positive for COVID-19 Jan. 6.
A Department of Defense civilian, his spouse and their dependent tested positive for COVID-19 on Jan. 6 following their direct contact with another DOD civilian who tested positive for the virus on Jan. 5.
Both the civilian and spouse work on USAG-Yongsan; the last time they visited the installation was Jan. 5.
All three individuals are currently in isolation at an USAG-Humphreys facility designated for confirmed COVID-19 cases.
KDCA and USFK health professionals are actively conducting contact tracing to determine whether anyone else may have been exposed to these individuals, and to ensure all known on-post and off-post facilities visited are thoroughly identified and cleaned.
Despite the confirmed cases, USFK remains at a high level of readiness with less than 1% of its active duty service members currently confirmed positive with COVID-19.
USFK continues to maintain a robust combined defense posture to protect the Republic of Korea against any threat or adversary, while maintaining prudent preventive measures to protect the force and the mission.
