USAG HUMPHREYS, Republic of Korea —
Two USFK-affiliated individuals have tested positive for COVID-19.
The two individuals, a retired service member and his spouse, tested positive for COVID-19 on Dec. 30 after developing symptoms consistent with the virus.
They live in Hwaseo-myeon (Area IV), last visited United States Army Garrison - Humphreys on Dec. 18 and are currently in isolation at an USAG-Humphreys facility designated for confirmed COVID-19 cases.
KDCA and USFK health professionals are actively conducting contact tracing to determine whether anyone else may have been exposed to these individuals, and to identify and ensure all known on-post and off-post facilities visited by the contractors are thoroughly cleaned.
Despite the confirmed cases, USFK remains at a high level of readiness with less than 1% of its active duty service members currently confirmed positive with COVID-19.
USFK continues to maintain a robust combined defense posture to protect the Republic of Korea against any threat or adversary while maintaining prudent preventive measures to protect the force.
