The third and fourth individuals - also contractors who work with the second individual - have been in self-quarantine at their off-installation residences since Dec. 22 following their direct contact with the second individual who tested positive for COVID-19.
One of the contractors has been transferred to a Korean hospital, and the other three are currently awaiting transportation to a Korean medical facility designated for confirmed COVID-19 cases.
KDCA and USFK health professionals are actively conducting contact tracing to determine whether anyone else may have been exposed to these individuals and to identify and ensure all known on-post and off-post facilities visited by these individuals are thoroughly cleaned.
Despite the confirmed cases, USFK remains at a high level of readiness, with less than 1% of its active duty service members currently confirmed positive with COVID-19.
USFK continues to maintain a robust combined defense posture to protect the Republic of Korea against any threat or adversary while maintaining prudent preventive measures to protect the force.
