Two USFK-affiliated Korean National individuals have tested positive for COVID-19.
The first individual, a contractor who works on Camp Casey, tested positive for COVID-19 on December 19, and has been in self-quarantine at his off-installation residence since Dec. 14; he last visited Camp Casey on Dec. 13.
He was directed to self-quarantine at his residence following a direct contact with an individual who tested positive for COVID-19.
The second individual, a civilian employee who works on United States Army Garrison - Humphreys, tested positive for COVID-19 on December 20; he last visited USAG-Humphreys on Dec. 18.
Both individuals are awaiting transport to a Korean medical facility designated for confirmed COVID-19 cases.
KDCA and USFK health professionals are actively conducting contact tracing to determine whether anyone else may have been exposed to these individuals, and to identify and ensure all known on-post and off-post facilities visited by the contractors are thoroughly cleaned.
Despite the confirmed cases, USFK remains at a high level of readiness with less than 1% of its active duty service members currently confirmed positive with COVID-19.
USFK continues to maintain a robust combined defense posture to protect the Republic of Korea against any threat or adversary while maintaining prudent preventive measures to protect the force.
