A USFK contractor who works at Osan Air Base tested positive for COVID-19 today.

The contractor, a Korean citizen, last visited Osan Air Base on September 3, and was tested after a workplace exposure at his spouse’s place of employment; she does not work at Osan. He has been directed to isolation at the Anseong Hospital by the KCDC.

All known contacts of the contractor have since quarantined since he tested positive, and KCDC and USFK health professionals are actively conducting contact tracing to determine whether anyone else may have been exposed.

Despite the recent confirmed cases, USFK remains at a high level of readiness with less than 1% of its active duty service members currently confirmed positive with COVID-19.

USFK continues to maintain a robust combined defense posture to protect the Republic of Korea against any threat or adversary while maintaining prudent preventive measures to protect the force.
