USFK Dependent Confirmed with COVID-19

PA-001-20 | April 27, 2020

A dependent of a USFK service member, stationed at Camp Walker, tested positive for COVID-19.

The dependent, a U.S. citizen, returned from the United States on April 25, and then transited to Camp Humphreys via government transportation where he underwent mandatory testing.

He is currently in mandatory self-quarantine at Camp Humphreys’ isolation barracks.

Any USFK-affiliated individual arriving to the Republic of Korea from overseas must conduct a minimum 14-day quarantine, will be monitored for symptoms and must complete two COVID-19 tests with confirmed negative results to exit quarantine.

This policy stands as a testament to USFK’s preventive measures to minimize exposure with others and contain the virus' spread.

Additional information will be provided by USFK as it becomes available.

Despite the confirmed cases, USFK remains at a high level of readiness with only two active duty service members who’ve tested positive for COVID-19, and continues to maintain a robust combined defense posture to protect the Republic of Korea against any threat or adversary while maintaining prudent preventive measures to protect the force.
