Since USFK first began monitoring and assessing what would become a global pandemic, USFK’s health protection control measures protect the force against COVID-19 and has enabled USFK to maintain a high state of mission readiness to protect the Republic of Korea.

주한미군사령부가 전세계적인 전염병을 지켜보고 평가하기 시작한 이래,  주한미군의 군 보건방호태세는 코로나바이러스로부터 군을 방호하고, 대한민국을 보호하기 위한 높은 수준의 준비태세를 유지할 수 있도록 하였다.

USFK’s COVID-19 control measures continue to set the standard as a majority of the U.S. Department of Defense have implemented them to protect its formations, preserve mission capabilities and defend the US’ national security interests.

주한미군의 코로나바이러스 통제조치는 미군 대다수가 군을 방호하고, 임무수행 능력을 지키면서 미국과 국가안보이익을 지키기 위해 실행하고 있는 기준을 지속적으로 설정해왔다.

The preventive COVID-19 control measures have enabled USFK to experience less than a 1% infection rate among its 58,000 strong USFK-related population; only two service members, one of which has since recovered from its 28,500 strong military force, have contracted COVID-19.

코로나바이러스 예방통제조치의 시행으로 주한미군은 58,000명의 주한미군 관련 인원중 1% 미만이 코로나바이러스에 감염되었고, 28,500명의 장병중 2명만 확진 판정을 받았으며 그 중 1명은 완치판정을 받았다.

USFK preventive control measures implemented include restricting off-base travel to official business and necessary tasks only, maximizing the core tenets - stay home when sick, practice proper hand hygiene, observe social distancing, clean and disinfect frequently, avoid groups larger than 15 people - prohibiting visits to restaurants for sit-down dining, bars, clubs and theaters, and minimizing the physical workforce to mission essential only individuals.

주한미군사령부가 시행한 예방통제조치로는 공무와 필수적인 업무를 제외한 부대밖 외출제한과 아플때 집에 머물며, 손위생을 철저히 지키고, 사회적 거리두기, 청소 및 소독, 그리고 15명 이상의 모임 금지등을 극대화하고 앉아서 식사하는 식당, 술집, 클럽, 극장 시설 이용 금지 및 최소한의 필수 인력만 출근한 것들이 포함된다.  

When social distancing cannot be achieved, USFK purchased and distributed cloth masks for all USFK-related persons and mandated the use of masks when inside the commissary, PX/BX, post office, food court, banks and other highly trafficked areas and facilities.

주한미군은 천 마스크를 구입하고 모든 주한미군 관련 인원에게 배포하였으며, 사회적 거리두기를 실행할 수 없을 때 식료품점, 매점, 우체국, 식당, 은행 및 사람들이 많이 모이는 지역과 시설내에서 마스크 착용을 의무화 하였다.

A recent increase in USFK’s confirmed cases has been attributed to a select few individuals who chose not to follow or adhere to the strict control measures. These individuals, under command authorities afforded under the declared Public Health Emergency, can face adverse action including being barred from USFK installations. 

최근 주한미군내 코로나바이러스 확진자 증가는 엄격한 통제 조치를 따르지 않거나 준수하지 않는 소수의 몇 명으로 기인한 것으로 이들은 주한미군의 공중보건 비상상태 선포에 따라, 주한미군시설 출입 금지등 불리한 처우에 직면할 수 있다.

As it has since the beginning, USFK continues to collaborate with the KCDC and local public health officials to share information and discuss response measures.

시작단계부터 계속해서 주한미군은 한국 질병관리본부와 대한민국 공중보건 관리자들과 함께 정보를 공유하고 대응방안을 논의하기 위하여 협력해왔다.

When a confirmed case is identified, USFK meticulously analyzes the 72 hours prior to the confirmed case with military health professionals conducting detailed contact trace analysis, and preventive medicine specialists supervise and inspect the work of the installations' clean teams thorough cleaning and disinfection of known on-post facilities and areas visited by the confirmed patient; this practice has minimized the risk of exposure by others within the community.

확진자 발생시, 주한미군은 군 보건전문가들과 함께 확진자의 동선을 추적하여  확진자 발생일로부터  72시간전 상황을 정밀  분석하며 예방의학전문가들이 확진자가 방문했던 부대 내 시설 및 장소 청소 및 소독 작업을 철저하게 감독하고 검사한다. 이는 영내에서 바이러스가 다른사람에게 노출될 수 있는 위험을 최소화하였다.

When an individual is confirmed with COVID-19, that person is required to enter isolation for a minimum of 14 days. Their release from isolation will occur only when the following four conditions have been met: individual remains asymptomatic for seven days, free of fever without using fever-reducing medications, successfully pass two consecutive COVID-19 tests with negative results no less than 24 hours apart, and be approved by a medical professional.

코로나바이러스 확진판정을 받은 사람은 최소14일간 격리되고 격리조치에서 해제되기 위해서는 다음 4가지 조건을 충족해야 한다: 7일 이상 무증상 상태를 유지하고, 해열제 복용없이도 발열 증상이 없으며, 최소 24시간 간격으로 진행된 진단 검사에서 두 번 연속으로 음성판정을 받고, 의료진에 의해 완치 판정을 받아야한다. 

Out of an abundance of caution, USFK requires that anyone in direct contact with someone being tested for COVID-19 immediately goes home to self-quarantine pending the test results. If the results are negative, all those in self-quarantine are notified to resume their normal work and life routines.

예방차원에서, 주한미군은 코로나바이러스 검사를 받은 개인과 직접 접촉한 사람은 검사 결과가 나올 때까지 즉시 자가격리 하도록 하고 있다. 만약 검사결과가 음성이라면 자가격리중이었던 사람들은 정상적인 일과 생활을 재개할 수 있다

However, if the results are positive, all who went into self-quarantine will immediately transition to quarantine for a minimum of 14 days. In order to be released from quarantine, the individual must successfully complete a COVID-19 test with negative test results. This policy has identified several recent asymptomatic individuals who could have otherwise unknowingly exposed others to the virus upon their release.

하지만, 결과가 양성으로 판정나면, 자가격리중이던 사람들은 즉시 최소 14일 동안 격리생활로 전환되며, 격리에서 해제되기 위해서는 코로나바이러스 음성판정을 받아야 한다. 이러한 정책들을 시행함으로써 본인도 인지하지 못한 사이 다른 사람들에게 바이러스를 전파했을 수도 있는 최근 몇 명의 무증상 감염자가 식별되었다

Any USFK-affiliated individual arriving to South Korea from overseas will quarantine for 14 days. The individuals will be tested twice during quarantine - upon entry and exit - and the test results must be confirmed negative to exit quarantine. If either test result is positive, the individual enters the isolation program and must meet the previously mentioned criteria - asymptomatic, fever-free, two negative test no less than 24 hours apart, and medically cleared - to exit isolation.

주한미군은 해외에서 한국으로 입국하는 모든 인원을 최소 14일간 격리조치한다. 이 인원들은 입국시 그리고 14일간의 격리기간이 종료되었을 때 총 두번 검사를 받게 되며 검사결과가 음성으로 확인되면 격리에서 해제된다. 검사에서 양성이 나오면, 개인은 격리상태가 되고 위에서 언급한 무증상, 무열, 24시간 이상간격으로 실시한 검사에서 두번의 음성판정, 그리고 의료진의 완치판정을 충족해야 격리에서 해제된다.

The above policies stand as a testament to USFK’s aggressive preventive control measures to stop the virus' spread within USFK as it maintains a “Fight Tonight” readiness posture.

위 정책들은 주한미군이 “전투”준비태세를 유지하며 바이러스의 확산을 억제하기 위해 적극적으로 시행하는 예방조치들이다.

While USFK has done an outstanding job at keeping the virus off the installations and out of its formations, all USFK-affiliated individuals must remain disciplined and vigilant in their efforts to fighting complacency. Everyone has an individual responsibility to squash the curve, protect the force and kill the virus by keeping up your guard to protect the force to protect the mission.

주한미군이 주한미군 장병과 시설로 바이러스가 전파되지 못하도록 두드러진 역할을 했지만, 주한미군 모든 인원들은 현 상태에 안주하지 말고 계속해서 절제되고 조금도 방심하지 않는 상태를 유지해야 한다. 우리 모두는 임무를 지키기 위하여 군을 방호하는 자세를 유지함으로서 바이러스를 제압하고 군 방호와 바이러스를 죽이는 것에 대한 개인적인 책임을 가지고 있다.    

USFK remains at a high level of readiness, and continues to maintain a robust combined defense posture to protect the Republic of Korea against any threat or adversary while implementing and maintaining prudent preventive control measures to protect the force.

주한미군은 높은 수준의 준비태세를 유지하고 있으며, 군을 방호하기 위한 신중한 예방조치를 시행하면서 대한민국을 어떠한 위협이나 적으로 부터 보호하기 위해 강력한 연합방위태세를 계속 유지하고 있다.
