A USFK contractor, who works at Osan Air Base, tested positive for COVID-19 today.
The contractor, who is a U.S. citizen, is currently in isolation at his off-base residence as directed by KCDC and USFK medical personnel.
He last visited Osan AB on April 1, and KCDC and USFK are actively conducting contact tracing to determine whether anyone else may have been exposed.
As a precautionary measure to protect the force, Osan AB remains at HPCON C+ as it continues contact tracing and thorough cleaning of any known locations visited on the installation.
USFK remains at risk level "high" peninsula-wide and is implementing all appropriate control measures, including a declared Public Health Emergency on March 25, as prudent decisions to protect the force and stop the spread of COVID-19.
Additional information will be provided by USFK as it becomes available.
USFK continues to maintain a robust combined defense posture to protect the Republic of Korea against any threat or adversary while maintaining HPCON C+ preventative measures.
