Ambassador Harry Harris, United States Ambassador to South Korea, Foreign Minister Kang Kyung-wha, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and General Robert B. “Abe” Abrams, Commander of United Nations Command, Combined Forces Command, and United States Forces Korea met today to emphasize the importance of the ROK-U.S. alliance and the importance of maintaining a strong combined defense posture to maintaining peace, security and stability on the Korean Peninsula.

Camp Humphreys, Republic of Korea —

Foreign Minister Kang Kyung-wha, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Ambassador Harry Harris, United States Ambassador to South Korea, attended USFK-hosted meetings, base tours and a luncheon with Republic of Korea and U.S. service members at Osan Air Base and Camp Humphreys today.

 

강경화 외교부 장관, 해리 해리스 주한 미국대사는 주한미군사령부의 초청 모임에 참석, 오산 공군기지와 캠프 험프리스 기지를 둘러보고 한미 장병들과 오찬을 함께 했다.

 

Minister Kang, Ambassador Harris and General Robert B. “Abe” Abrams, Commander of United Nations Command, Combined Forces Command, and United States Forces Korea emphasized the importance of the ROK-U.S. alliance and the importance of maintaining a strong combined defense posture to maintaining peace, security and stability on the Korean Peninsula.

 

강 장관, 해리스 대사, 유엔사/연합사/주한미군 사령관 로버트 B. “에이브” 에이브럼스 대장은 한미 동맹의 중요성과 한반도 평화와 안보 그리고 안정을 유지하는 연합 방위 태세의 중요성을 강조하였다.

           

“Our commitment to the RoK-US alliance is unbreakable.  We support all efforts to restore peace and security on the peninsula, including the full, verified denuclearization of North Korea,” said Abrams. "Together with our Korean allies we stand postured and ready to deter aggression, defend the Republic of Korea, and if necessary, to defeat any adversary who would oppose us."

 

에이브람스 사령관은 “한미 동맹에 대한 우리의 헌신은 확고하다. 우리는 북한의 완전하고 검증 가능한 비핵화를 포함한 한반도의 평화와 안보를 회복하려는 모든 노력을 지지한다. 그리고 한국 동맹국과 함께 침략을 억제하고, 대한민국을 방어하며 필요시 우리에 맞서는 어떤  적들도 물리칠수 있는 태세를 갖추고 있다,” 고 밝혔다.
