United Nations Command (UNC) held a repatriation ceremony for a UNC troop at Knight Field at Yongsan Garrison, in Seoul, November, 20, 2018 at 11 a.m.

유엔 사령부는 11월 20일, 오전 11시 용산 미군기지 나이트필드 연병장에서 유해송환식을 거행하였다.

Hosted by General Robert B. "Abe" Abrams , Commander, UNC, the ceremony honored a fallen hero who fought during the Korean War. Attendees at the outdoor ceremony included the UNC’s 15 sending states and members from the Republic of Korea’s Ministry of National Defense (MND), and the MND’s Killed in Action Recovery and Identification unit (MAKRI), the Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs (MPVA), and the Defense Prisoner of War/Missing in Action Accounting Agency (DPAA) an agency within the United States Department of Defense.

유엔군 사령관, 로버트 B “아베” 에이브람스 대장 주관으로 거행된 본 행사는 한국 전쟁 당시 전사한 참전 용사를 추모하였으며, 유엔사 전력 지원국 15개 국가와 대한민국 국방부, 국방부 유해발굴 감식단, 국가보훈처 및 미 국방부 전쟁포로 및 실종자 확인국 관계자들이 참석하였다

UNC Commander, Gen. Abrams said, “With each repatriation we fulfill our vow to leave no one behind.”

에이브람스 사령관은 “유해 송환 행사를 통해 전우를 뒤에 남기지 않는다는 우리들의 약속을 지킬수 있었다,” 라고 말했다.

The fallen Korean War hero went missing in April of 1951 between Yanggu and Inje and was presumed to have been killed in battle in 1951. The remains were recovered from a hill in Yanggu, Gangwon Province, in October and will be taken to the DPAA offices in Hawaii to continue the identification process.

한국 전쟁 중 전사한 장병은 1951년 4월 강원도 양구와 인제 부근에서 실종되었고 1951년 전투 중  전사한 것으로 추정된다. 유해는 강원도 양구에 위치한 산악 지역에서 10월에 발굴되었고, 하와이에 위치한 미 국방부 전쟁포로 및 실종자 확인국에서 신원확인 작업을 진행할 것이다

Continued recovery efforts for the missing in action remain essential for the families of fallen heroes from all participants of the Korean War.

한국 전쟁 전사자 유가족을 위한 유해 발굴을 위한 우리의 노력을 지속 될 것이다.

Honored for making the ultimate sacrifice, the fallen warrior was given a three-volley 21-Gun Salute and a Heroes’ Procession before departing Knight Field. Gen. Abrams said, “Let us never rest until they all come home.”

유해가 나이트필드 연병장을 떠나기 전 참전 용사의 희생을 추모하기 위한 21발의 조총 발사 있었고 “영웅을 위한 행진 (Heroes’ Procession)”이 진행 되었다. 에이브람스 사령관은  “그들이 귀향할 때까지 우리의 노력은 지속되어야 한다.” 라고 하였다.
