Two USFK-related individuals have tested positive for COVID-19.
The first patient, a USFK contractor who is a U.S. citizen and works at Camp Humphreys, had been in quarantine at Camp Humphreys’ barracks designated for quarantine since April 1, and he has now been transferred to Camp Humphreys’ barracks designated for isolation.
The second patient, the spouse of a USFK contractor who works on Camp Humphreys, last visited the installation on March 29. She has been in quarantine at her off-base residence since 30 March, and currently remains in isolation there.
Both individuals were directed to quarantine following their direct contact with an individual who previously tested positive for COVID-19.
USFK health professionals determined contact tracing and thorough disinfection cleaning of Camp Humphreys’ facilities were not necessary due to their quarantine status.
Out of an abundance of caution, USFK requires all individuals to quarantine who were in direct contact with a confirmed COVID-19 patient.
This policy, along with the requirement for individuals in quarantine based on confirmed contact with a COVID-19 case to complete a COVID-19 test with negative results prior to their release, stands as a testament to USFK’s preventive measures to minimize exposure with others and contain the virus' spread.
USFK continues to collaborate and share information with the KCDC and public health officials.
Camp Humphreys and Osan Air Base remain at HPCON C+ as they continue contact tracing of its other recent confirmed COVID-19 cases, while the remainder of USFK installations maintain HPCON C as a prudent measure to protect the force and stop the spread of COVID-19.

Despite the confirmed cases, USFK remains at a high level of readiness with only two active duty service members who’ve tested positive for COVID-19, and continues to maintain a robust combined defense posture to protect the Republic of Korea against any threat or adversary while maintaining prudent preventive measures to protect the force.
