YONGSAN GARRISON, SEOUL, Republic of Korea – Newly-elected Republic of Korea President Moon, Jae-in, visited with Combined Forces Command leadership at United States Army Garrison Yongsan June 13.

대한민국, 서울, 용산기지 – 새로 선출된 문재인 대통령이 6월13일 한미연합사 지도부를 방문하였다.

During the visit, President Moon laid out his priorities for the ROK-U.S. Alliance and gained a deeper understanding of United Nations Command, Combined Forces Command, and United States Forces Korea missions.

방문을 통해, 문대통령은 한미동맹에 대한 우선순위를 제시하는 한편 유엔군사령부, 연합사령부 및 주한미군의 임무에 대해 더 깊이 이해하게 되었다.

“It is a great pleasure to be at the ROK-U.S. Combined Forces Command for the first time since taking office,” said President Moon. “I want to applaud servicemembers for the great job and critical role in deterring enemy’s aggression.”

“취임 후 한미연합사를 처음 방문하게 되어 기쁘게 생각합니다. 적의 공격을 억제하는데 매우 중요한 역활을 하고 있는 장병들에게 박수를 보내고 싶습니다” 라고 문대통령이 말했다.


General Vincent K. Brooks and Gen. Leem, Ho Young welcomed the president and emphasized the Alliance’s continued support to the security and stability of the ROK.

대통령을 영접한 빈센트 브룩스 사령관과 임호영 부사령관은 대한민국의 안보와 안정을 위한 한미동맹의 지속적인 지원에 대해 강조하였다.

“During this time of heightened tensions it is more important than ever to stand with our Korean brothers,” said Gen. Brooks. “The special relationship between the U.S. and the ROK was forged by our grandfathers and we will continue their legacy of steadfast commitment—regardless of what the future brings.”

“긴장이 고조된 이 시기에, 한국 형제들과 조화를 이루는 것은 그 어느 때보다 중요합니다. 미국과 대한민국 사이의 특별한 관계는 우리 할아버지들에 의해 구축되었으며 미래에 어떤 일이 일어나더라도 우리는 그들의 확고부동한 헌신을 계승할 것 입니다,” 라고 브룩스 사령관이 말했다.

This is Jae-in Moon’s first visit as the ROK president to the CFC headquarters. The visit underscores the continued support to the Alliance and the lasting friendship enjoyed between both nations.

이번 한미연합사령부 방문은 대한민국 대통령으로서 문재인 대통령의 첫 방문이다. 이번 방문은 한미동맹에 대한 지속적인 지원과 양국간 영원한 우정을 나타낸다.
