General Vincent K. Brooks, commander of the United Nations Command, Combined Forces Command, and U.S. Forces Korea gave a speech to the Korean-American Association, in Seoul, Sept. 15. Brooks discussed the importance of the Alliance between the Republic of Korea and the United States and its unique place in history. Gen. Brooks also address the importance of the Alliance in maintaining stability in the region, despite the current tensions. The Korean-American Association was founded in 1963 as a non-profit civilian organization for the purpose of promoting mutual understanding, friendship and cooperation between Korea and the United States through active exchanges in diverse fields.
