Ulchi Freedom Shield

Ulchi Freedom Shield – a combined, joint, all-domain, and interagency operating environment. This annual exercise aims to build understanding between Combined Forces Command, United States Forces Korea, the United Nations Command, and ROK Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS), ensuring their ability to fortify the combined defense posture and enhance Alliance response capabilities against a spectrum of security threats. It will feature live, virtual, constructive and field-based training, engaging personnel from the various military services.

U.S. Air Force Pararescumen (PJ) and Tactical Air Control Party Specialists (TACP) from the 82nd Expiditionary Rescue Squadron (ERQS) participate in long range weapons training at an undisclosed location in Djibouti on 22 Sept, 2020. Special Warfare Airmen from Combined Joint Task Force - Horn of Africa (CJTF-HOA) routinely train across a broad range of weapons systems to ensure they are knowledgable and capable of identifying, operating, and maintaining them.
