U.S. Army 1st Lt. Ethan Stankiewicz and other members of Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 2nd Battalion, 34th Armored Regiment, 1st Armored Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division participate in a static display as part of the Polish Armed Forces Day celebration in Piła, Poland, Aug. 14, 2021. This year will commemorate the 100th anniversary of the 1920 victory of the Battle of Warsaw after the coronavirus pandemic foiled the plans last year. Given his family’s Polish lineage, Stankiewicz is hopeful to see where his great-grandfather lived in the country. The 1st Infantry Division is currently on a rotation in Europe in support of Atlantic Resolve, which builds readiness, increases interoperability, and enhances the bond between ally and partner militaries using multinational events.
