Ulchi Freedom Shield

Ulchi Freedom Shield – a combined, joint, all-domain, and interagency operating environment. This annual exercise aims to build understanding between Combined Forces Command, United States Forces Korea, the United Nations Command, and ROK Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS), ensuring their ability to fortify the combined defense posture and enhance Alliance response capabilities against a spectrum of security threats. It will feature live, virtual, constructive and field-based training, engaging personnel from the various military services.

U.S. Soldiers assigned to the 12th Combat Aviation Brigade assemble and maintain multiple AH-64Ev6 Apache Guardian attack helicopters in preparation for the second Polish Apache Initiative at Katterbach Army Airfield in Ansbach, Germany, Jan. 23, 2025. The Polish Apache Initiative summit program is a series of focused leader engagements between multinational allied forces that increase interoperability by discussing command and control, tactics and training, and maintenance. Implemented by U.S. Army V Corps and hosted by 12th Combat Aviation Brigade, the summit builds interoperability and collective training proficiency by employing AH-64Ev6 units in multinational training events.
