Ulchi Freedom Shield

Ulchi Freedom Shield – a combined, joint, all-domain, and interagency operating environment. This annual exercise aims to build understanding between Combined Forces Command, United States Forces Korea, the United Nations Command, and ROK Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS), ensuring their ability to fortify the combined defense posture and enhance Alliance response capabilities against a spectrum of security threats. It will feature live, virtual, constructive and field-based training, engaging personnel from the various military services.

U.S. Marines with Combat Logistics Regiment 3, 3rd Marine Logistics Group, take part in Jungle Workhorse, a command post exercise, at Jungle Warfare Training Center, Okinawa, Japan, July 21, 2022. The Marines simulated command and control and conducted rapid setup and teardown of their combat operations center in preparation for future exercises and operations. 3rd MLG, based out of Okinawa, Japan, is a forward deployed combat unit that serves as III Marine Expeditionary Force’s comprehensive logistics and combat service support backbone for operations throughout the Indo-Pacific area of responsibility.
