Ulchi Freedom Shield

Ulchi Freedom Shield – a combined, joint, all-domain, and interagency operating environment. This annual exercise aims to build understanding between Combined Forces Command, United States Forces Korea, the United Nations Command, and ROK Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS), ensuring their ability to fortify the combined defense posture and enhance Alliance response capabilities against a spectrum of security threats. It will feature live, virtual, constructive and field-based training, engaging personnel from the various military services.

East Coast-based U.S. Naval Special Warfare Operators (SEALs) conduct live fire weapons training in the U.S. Special Operations Command Europe area of responsibility in January 2024. This training continues to build upon and strengthen relationships SOCEUR has built with our Allies and partners while training in Europe and is a tangible representation of U.S commitment to our European Allies and partners. Naval Special Warfare Group 2 produces, trains, supports, and deploys the world’s premier maritime special operations forces to conduct full-spectrum operations and integrated deterrence in support of U.S. national objectives.
