Ulchi Freedom Shield

Ulchi Freedom Shield – a combined, joint, all-domain, and interagency operating environment. This annual exercise aims to build understanding between Combined Forces Command, United States Forces Korea, the United Nations Command, and ROK Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS), ensuring their ability to fortify the combined defense posture and enhance Alliance response capabilities against a spectrum of security threats. It will feature live, virtual, constructive and field-based training, engaging personnel from the various military services.

U.S. Soldiers from across Fort Bliss execute medical tasks during Expert Soldier Badge lanes at Fort Bliss, Texas, including requesting medical evacuation, providing care under fire, controlling bleeding, and evaluating and treating casualties. The lanes assess Soldiers’ ability to deliver lifesaving care under realistic and stressful conditions. 1st Armored Division conducts E3B training and testing at Fort Bliss from Jan. 15–30, 2026, giving qualified Soldiers the chance to earn the E3B.
