Ulchi Freedom Shield

Ulchi Freedom Shield – a combined, joint, all-domain, and interagency operating environment. This annual exercise aims to build understanding between Combined Forces Command, United States Forces Korea, the United Nations Command, and ROK Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS), ensuring their ability to fortify the combined defense posture and enhance Alliance response capabilities against a spectrum of security threats. It will feature live, virtual, constructive and field-based training, engaging personnel from the various military services.

F-15E Strike Eagle aircrews from the 4th Fighter Wing's 336th Fighter Squadron, Seymour Johnson Air Force Base, North Carolina, kicked off operation Castle Forge with a successful week of training at Larissa Air Base, Greece, alongside allies from the Hellenic Air Force's 110th Combat Wing, Oct. 11-17th, 2021. Castle Forge is a U.S. Air Forces Europe-Air Forces Africa-led, joint, multi-national operation that demonstrates the joint force’s combined ability to respond in times of crisis with a flexible, reassuring presence.
